Namaste!
Over the last five years that I’ve been teaching my Sanskrit for Yogis™ workshops, so many Yoga teachers and Yoga teachers-in-training have requested that I put together a program that:
- Reveals the complete depth of the Yoga tradition as it has been preserved for over 5000 years in the technology of Sanskrit, the language of Yoga
- Provides valuable new skills in Sanskrit as it best relates to Yoga practice and teaching to enhance professional qualifications especially for Yoga teachers
- AND accommodates everyone’s unique and busy schedule!
I knew I’d have no trouble fulfilling the first two requests, but the last one really stumped me. Everyone follows a completely different rhythm of life these days. Not everyone has the luxury of devoting an entire weekend once a month for continuing Yoga education and advanced training.
Many of you lead such busy lives that what you need most is an online/distance learning programs that let you learn when you want, at your own pace, and in your own home, while still having access to my personal guidance and my live instruction.
So with the help of my tech wizard husband, Jeff, I’ve created a convenient on-line/distance learning component to our classroom Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers Training – a landmark program we’ve designed in partnership with Prana Yoga Mandala of Denver, directed by Hansa Knox.
Our intensive 225 hour Sanskrit for Yoga Teacher Training program consists of 5 incredible modules that meet the rigorous vocational and educational standards determined by the Colorado Department of Higher Education and Yoga Alliance. (Click here for a detailed description of the 225-hr program and to register)
At the conclusion of this program, you’ll achieve level of mastery that took me at least five years of training in India to achieve!
The 5-module training will be held live in-person at Prana Yoga Mandala in Denver in 15 weekend sessions over 13 months. Upon successful completion of all components of the training, you’ll receive certification as an exclusive instructor of Sanskrit according to the Sanskrit for Yogis Method™.
But, for those of you for whom this kind of time and travel commitment is not possible, we’ve decided to offer the first two modules, Introduction to Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers Training (Parts I &II) as special online/distance learning programs.
How does the Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers Training online/distance learning program work?
- I’ll record all the live classes and post the recordings as MP-3 files that you can easily download to listen to whenever it’s convenient for you
- I’ll meet with my on-line students once per week via teleconference for additional live instruction, Q&A, and personal support
- I’ll post all handouts and class notes on a special website just for attendees in this special program
- And if you decide after completing the online/distance learning program, you’d like to join the rest of the classroom training and earn certification in the 255-hr program, I’ll roll over your credits so it’ll be no problem. Or you can decide to complete the training the next year we offer it and we’ll waive your registration fee.
Or…you can decide you’d rather just take the first two modules of the complete training. There’s no obligation to sign-up for the remaining three parts of the program.
Here’s all the amazing knowledge and skills you’ll gain:

Here's how this certification benefits Yoga Teachers:
Our Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers Training is the only program available that immerses you in profound, yet practical knowledge of Sanskrit that you can easily integrate into your Yoga teaching and practice – and really shine!
AND this Sanskrit program is the first of its kind that is designed especially to meet the needs of Yoga instructors. You won’t find this kind of quality, depth, and practical skills offered in any other Sanskrit program.
Before considering the investment costs of our Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers Training online/distance learning program, let me review the benefits of our program and what you’ll gain from attending.
There’s so much more you’ll gain in our 225-hr program than the years of academic or even traditional studies. For example:
- Over 90 hours of recorded instruction that you can easily and conveniently download or listen to online
- Over 24 hours total of live instruction with Dr. Poole via teleconference
- All handouts and class notes available on a private, Sanskrit students’ only website
Finally…a Sanskrit program that’s perfect for Yoga Teachers!
Just to give you an idea of the financial and personal commitment most other Sanskrit programs require… If you were to study Sanskrit in a university program, for example, you’d be looking at investing thousands per semester. And at the end of a year, after a lot of hard work learning all the intricate and complex rules of grammar, maybe you’d be able to translate a simple Sanskrit text.
That’s a significant financial and personal commitment, that doesn’t serve your professional goals as a Yoga teacher, which is to give your students a deep experience of the essence of Yoga. (Not to mention that most university classes are held at inconvenient times and locations for most people – and there isn’t a single online/distance learning university Sanskrit class that is available to date.)
Or…you could take off a year from your life at great expense, and travel to India in the hope that you’ll find a teacher willing to share his or her knowledge of Sanskrit with you. But you’d first have to cross the obstacles of language and culture, if you’re even lucky enough to find a good teacher who’s willing to work with foreign students.
I know what this is all about, because I’ve walked both paths. I spent 12 years studying Sanskrit in the University and 5 years in India apprenticed to traditional Sanskrit teachers. While I have a rich expertise in Sanskrit as a result, as a Yoga teacher what you need are practical skills that you’ll immediately be able to apply to your own Yoga teaching. And, that’s what I am giving you in this special training program without compromising the depth of the Sanskrit tradition.
In short, our Sanskrit for Yoga Teachers Training Program presents you with the heart of Sanskrit.
Finally, as an additional benefit, we’ve decided to keep the class size small and intimate (20 people) to provide you with the kind of personalized instruction you’d experience in traditional India. We already have 10 people confirmed, which leaves 10 seats left. And I have over 50 people on my list who’ve been waiting to sign-up!
So if you’re ready to commit to taking your Yoga teaching and practice to the next level of knowledge and professionalism, it’s important that you register as soon as possible.
It’s easy to apply quickly online. Here’s all you need to do:
